Okay, noone is perfect
So, I am over the Oprah- James Frey thing. I do think Oprah does great things. It pissed me off..but noone is perfect, right? This is the sad lesson that has taken me almost twenty years and a lot of therapy to just start to learning. More on my quest to let myself be imperfect in a future entry. Sooooo I get home from the park today....not an afternoon at the park with a child..but my BABY.....(8 month old puppy) Daisy. I give her a sec to drink some water....she knew a bath was coming and was not too happy. In the meantime I turned on the last ten minutes of Oprah. And yes, I cried. I think I should look at the number of times Oprah has made me cry. Yeesh.
Oprah has on this man who was featured on her show back in November during her "Favorite Things show". (I absolutely love this particular show.....she features her fave things for the year and gives it all away to the audience...seeing people so happy is wonderful) And.....something I like about O....she always invites people who are working to better society. This year she invited people who had volunteered down in New Orleans. Oprah rocks....(How quickly I revert back to my love for her.) Sooooo, there was a man on the show who had Chicago White Sox World Series tickets and sold them in order to raise money to fly down to New Orleans and volunteer. What an incredible man. It made me cry when I first heard him tell the story. Today though she had this man back on her show. She also had two White Sox players come out onto the stage and present him with a shirt. (I was already getting shaky.) Then, they present him with tickets and airfare to their spring training. (Now I am really shaky.) Thennnn, they tell him he will be there on opening day to throw out the first pitch. (Are you kidding...this is awesome! I am so happy for this guy.) Thennnnnn, they tell him he is being honored with an award from the team and organization.....(oh boy..there is more)....thennnnn, they say because of the award he gets to go to the All Star Game. (my eyes are starting to fill.) Finally....they present him with SEASON TICKETS. (Now I am crying. I am so happy for this guy. So happy that he did such an amazing selfless act and is being recognized. So happy that he is happy and.....back in love with my girl Oprah...who set this up. Hmmmmm.
